Hearts of Oak are in advanced talks with Black Galaxies head coach, Annor Walke to assume the position as the new head coach of the club.
Ongoing negotiations between Walker and the club suggest that he may be departing from his current two-year deal with Samartex, which he signed last season.
Despite having one year remaining on his contract with Samartex, Walker has been engaged in talks with Hearts of Oak, enticed by the club's prestigious reputation as one of the country's biggest teams. His aim is to lead the team in the upcoming season and revitalize their performance following a disappointing previous season, in which they narrowly avoided relegation on the final day.
Walker brings a wealth of experience to the table, having managed several Ghanaian clubs, including Berekum Chelsea. He also had the opportunity to coach the Black Galaxies during this year's African Nations Championship. His expertise and impressive track record make him an extremely valuable candidate for the coaching role at Hearts of Oak.
After the dismissals of Samuel Boadu and his successor Slavko Matic, who faced fan hostility during training sessions, the club concluded the season under caretaker manager David Ocloo.
Initially, there were reports linking former Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Narteh Ogum to the Hearts of Oak job. However, it seems that the club's attention has now shifted towards Annor Walker, who has also expressed his interest in the position.
If the negotiations reach a successful outcome, Walker will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on Hearts of Oak and guide them towards a more prosperous campaign.
