Having lost talismanic striker Franck Mbella Etouga to Egyptian side El Masry, the 59-year-old import gaffer is now feeling the heat over his absence in this season's campaign

Asante Kotoko SC current attacking forwards are not up to the standard of last season's own in the Ghana Premier League, according to Burkina Faso manager Seydou Zerbo.

The Porcupine Warriors outfit are lacking firepower upfront, with frontmen of Stephen Amankona, Samuel Boateng, Steven Mukwala, Solomon Sarfo Taylor and Isaac Oppong told they are not good enough in executing the task compared to their predecessors last season.

After seeing Cameronian lethal weapon, Franck Mbella Etouga, linking up with Egyptian Premier League side El Masry, the record league champions are yet to find his replacement in leading their attack for firepower upfront.

This, the Burkinabe import gaffer believes much need to be done in revamping their frontline options with sharpshooters in their bid to replicate their scoring power for the rest of the ongoing campaign.

"The current attackers at our disposal this year is not like the ones we were having last season," Zerbo said to StarTimes in post-match interview. "We're still working on (that) as something good will come out of it."

"We can't compare the last season attacking squad with this year's own. But still most of the players are there from last year and so we're working on it to revamp the attacking unit of the current squad."

Kotoko are sitting third in the league standings with 21 points after amassing 16 goals so far in the ongoing Ghana Premier League 22/23 football season.

They host Kotoku Royals at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium for the week 14 fixtures of the Betpawa Ghana Premier League.
