The Asante Kotoko defensive midfielder has made a wild and unsubstantiated allegation against the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League top-scorer.

Asante Kotoko star Richard Boadu has landed himself in big trouble for claiming that some Ghana Premier League manipulated matches with AshantiGold SC to aid winger Yaw Annor to register his goals.

Boadu has joined the list of some Ghanaians, who have raised concerns about the twenty-two (22) goals scored by the 24-year-old forward last season.

Annor won the Ghana Premier League top-scorer award after netting 22 goals to equal Heart of Oak legendary striker Ishmael Addo's record in the Ghanaian top-flight league after 21 years.

He was ranked 7th on the Federation of International Football Association's (FIFA) list of players with the most goals from the start of 2022.

Boadu in an interview with Wontumi FM on Wednesday stated emphatically that AshantiGold SC's Yaw Annor was a top performer in the 2021/22 season but some of the goals were manufactured by Ghanaian clubs.

“I'll pick Franck Mbella Etouga as my best player in the just ended season. Yaw Annor is another stubborn striker, who runs a lot on the field whenever he is with the ball, ” Boadu told Kumasi-based radio station Wontumi FM

“For Yaw Annor, I'll say some of the Ghana Premier League clubs played soft with AshantiGold SC for him to score,”

“I'm telling you the truth, some Premier League clubs played soft games with AshantiGold SC for him [Yaw Annor] to score to increase his goal tally” He revealed.

“There were some goals which you could clearly see that the goals were manufactured” he added.

Boadu has established himself as a key member of the Asante Kotoko after joining them from Medeama SC prior to the start of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season.

Earlier last week, seasoned football administrator, Mr. Albert Yahaya Commey also said in an interview with Space FM in Sunyani that Bibiani Goldstars FC fixed their 2021/22 Ghana Premier League match-week 34 game against AshantiGold SC.

AshantiGold SC's Yaw Annor scored two goals in the game which ended 2-2 at the Dun's Park in Bibiani last month.

Mr. Commey, who has been invited by the Ghana Football Association to assist investigation on the match fixing allegations, retracted and apologize to the football fraternity for his comments on match fixing allegations in the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League.
