Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has brushed off criticisms labeling his squad as weak, emphasizing the importance of consistency and winning matches.

Speaking after his side’s hard-fought 1-0 victory over Legon Cities FC in the Ghana Premier League, Ouattara addressed the comments in an interview with AFA Sports.

“Some people say we have a weak team, but we’re playing. Every match is a challenge to Hearts of Oak. For now, we aim for maximum points in every game,” he stated.

Ouattara also reflected on the match, acknowledging his team’s struggles, especially in the first half.

“It’s normal to lose the 50/50 balls. When the other team fights, you also have to fight, but we didn’t in the first half. Fortunately, we took our chance and scored,” he explained.

The win propelled Hearts of Oak to second place in the Ghana Premier League standings, as the team remains focused on sustaining their strong start to the season.
