Hearts of Oak extended their recent winning streak to three after yet another slim 1-0 victory over Legon Cities FC last Friday to kickstart match-week 16 of the Ghana Premier League.
Actually, the game was really a very tough encounter with Legon Cities giving the Phobians a very good run for their money but eventually Ramzy Yussif scored a beauty on the stroke of half time to make the difference.
The Rainbow Club after the win have now climbed up to the second position on the league table with 28 points and might drop based on the outcome of subsequent matches.
Speaking to AFA Sports in a post-game interview, the experienced Ivorian gaffer Aboubakar Ouattara is very much aware of people complaining of how weak his team are but isn't unfazed at all by those comments as their only focus coming into every game is to win.
“Some people say we have a weak team, but we are playing. Every match is a challenge to Hearts of Oak. For now, we need to target maximum points from every game," the Hearts of Oak coach said.
“It is normal to lose the 50/50 balls. When the other team is fighting, you also have to fight, but we didn’t fight in the first half. Fortunately, we got the chance to score,” he noted.
Hearts of Oak will travel to champions FC Samartex in the next round of matches on January 19, 2025.
