Berekum Chelsea forward Stephen Amankona is confident his side can upset Hearts of Oak in their matchday 14 clash of the Ghana Premier League.

The Phobians will host Berekum Chelsea at the University of Ghana Stadium on Friday evening in what promises to be a competitive encounter.

Amankona, who will play a key role for the Bibires, believes his team has what it takes to secure a positive result against Hearts of Oak.

Speaking ahead of the game, the former Asante Kotoko forward emphasized his side’s determination to avoid defeat.

“Just as we did against Nations FC, we will grind out a result against Hearts of Oak on Friday. It’s a 50-50 game, but we won’t return home with a defeat. I will plead with our fans to pray for the team,” Amankona said.

Berekum Chelsea head into the fixture following a goalless draw with Aduana FC, while Hearts of Oak will be looking to bounce back after their narrow defeat to arch-rivals Asante Kotoko.

The Bibires currently sit 8th on the league table with 18 points, just one point behind Hearts of Oak, who occupy the 7th position.
