Former Asante Kotoko forward, Stephen Manu, has expressed strong belief that his former club has what it takes to clinch the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League title.

Manu was present at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday when Kotoko secured a vital 1-0 victory over rivals Hearts of Oak in the Super Clash. Striker Albert Amoah became the hero, scoring a dramatic injury-time goal following a defensive mix-up between Hearts' Kelvin Osei Asibey and goalkeeper Benjamin Asare.

Speaking after the match, Manu shared his conviction that Kotoko can win the league, citing their performance against Hearts as evidence of their potential.

“For sure, no doubt. I’m convinced Kotoko can win the Premier League, especially after their performance in the Super Clash. If the right things are done, they can win the league hands down,” he told Kessben FM.

Manu also praised Kotoko’s dominance over a strong Hearts of Oak side, adding, “Kotoko dominated Hearts, who have been in good form. They should have won by a four-goal margin if they were more clinical. They could have crushed Hearts, but a win is a win.”

Asante Kotoko are currently in sixth place on the Ghana Premier League table, with 21 points from 13 matches.
