Asante Kotoko Communications Director, David Obeng Nyarko, says even Barcelona had a preseason tour without their coach, Xavi, but insists that Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum is still the head coach.
Asante Kotoko won the Ghana Premier League title in the just ended 2021/22 season.
Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum have told the club that he wants to resign from the club, according to Emmanuel Newton Dasoberi, Asante Kotoko Administrative and Operations manager.
But the former West African Football Academy gaffer is yet to officially tender in his resignation.
Dr. Narteh Ogum is reported to have fallen out with the club's management headed by Nana Yaw Amponsah.
The Porcupine Warriors will be competing in Africa and have announced that they will have their preseason in Turkey.
Speaking at their Turkey preseason launch, David Obeng Nyarko said that Prosper Narteh Ogum is still the head coach of the club.
"There's no official communication from the club. Recently Barcelona travelled to pre-season of which Xavi couldn't make it but still had the pre season."
"Until the club officially comes out, it is important that we take it as it is," he insisted.
