The Public Relation Officer of Real Tamale United, Sey Mubarak has stated that the challenges facing the club is purely financial and not technical or management as it has been speculated.

The Northern Blues were nealy relegated last season due to serious financial constrains and are still struggling to generate funds - as players are owed salaries and bonuses which has left them with no other choice than to plunge-into a strike.

Mubarak has, however, made public that the club will need a budget of GH₵3.8 million for next season’s (2022-23) Ghana Premier League.

“We are appealing to the board of our club so that we would get all our budget this season so we don’t have to write a letter to Regional Minister or go and be seeking support from Politicians to travel and play matches. The Board is aware that if the resources are not there the challenges will remain”, he told Accra-based Happy FM.

“The challenges of the club are not about technical or management but purely financial. As we stand now convincing the players will be difficult to return to training because the coach who can help has resigned and it’s going to be difficult. The only thing we can do to convince them will be to pay their outstanding bonuses.

‘’What I know is the club needs about GH₵3.8 million Ghanaian Cedi. We are hopeful and we know they are big men who have connections and can get this money”, he added.

After a troubled campaign last season where they narrowly escaped relegation and are currently faced with financial constrain - RTU are aiming to be a formidable outfit next term.
