Former Asante Kotoko talisman, Franck Mbella Etouga, may have moved on from the club, but his allegiance remains unwavering as he assures fans that Kotoko "will never, ever go down."
The Cameroonian striker, instrumental in Kotoko's 2021/2022 league triumph with 21 goals, has been closely following the club's recent challenges. Despite no longer being part of the team, Etouga maintains a keen interest in Kotoko's affairs, urging his former teammates to rise to the occasion.
In a conversation with scasantekotoko.com, Etouga emphasized the need for responsibility among the current squad members to navigate through the difficult period.
“I have been monitoring what is happening in Kotoko, even though I am not there, but I still follow the club every week when they play, and I can see that they are going through a difficult situation, but I want to encourage my former teammates to take responsibility and make things better.”
Acknowledging the temporary setbacks in football, Etouga expressed confidence in Kotoko's resilience, affirming, “The situation now normally happens because this is football. And sometimes it can be good, but now is a bad time, so I just want all the supporters to stay calm, and I beg them not to neglect the team, because this team is one of the best in Africa, and it will never, ever go down.”
