Ghana Premier League (GPL) Side, Tamale City have confirmed that their head coach Mohammed Abdul Wahid have left for a refresher course in the United States of America, with assistant Hamza Mohammed taking over as the interim head coach
Abdul Wahid is expected to stay in the United States of America for a-month for the coaching course.
Mohammed Abdul Wahid was appointed at the start of the 2022/23 season after Tamale City secured their historic qualification for the Ghanaian top-flight.
Hamza Mohammed led Tamale City to qualify for the GPL but was demoted to an assistant because of Club Licensing regulations, which allows licence A and above holders to coach in the GPL.
Tamale City are currently 17th position with six points after eight games in the GPL.
A statement from the club reads: “Tamale City Football Club wish to announce that head coach Mohammed Abdul Wahid has left the country to the USA for a one-month refresher course."
“In his absence, assistant coach Hamza Mohammed will act as the head coach with support from the rest of the technical team," it ended.
The GPL will return on 19th December after the one-month World Cup break.
Tamale City will travel to face Bechem United on Wednesday, 21 December.
