With two players separated by only one goal, the race for the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League Golden Boot is one of the most hotly-contested in recent seasons.
After scoring TWO times in Asante Kotoko's 2-0 win over Hearts of Oak on Sunday, Steven Mukwala has now racked up 14 goals, just one goal separating him with 15 goals hero with Berekum Chelsea star Steven Amankona.
Mukwala is hot on the Bibires star's heels after netting in the Porcupine Warriors impressive victory over rivals Hearts on Sunday and has his sights set firmly on winning the award.
“It’s a tough race. Amankona is also in good shape but I believe at the end of the season, the best player will win the goal king prize," Mukwala said after the game against Hearts of Oak.
The win over the Phobians has moved Kotoko into the 9th position on the Premier League table.
