Former Asante Kotoko captain, Amos Frimpong has hugely blamed the disunity among Kotoko supporters as the main problem of the club and feels this is the time to come together and rally behind the team.
Despite finishing the first round of the ongoing season on a blistering note, the Porcupine Warriors have been completely shambolic in the second phase with recent string of negative results.
They are currently winless in their last seven matches, having lost six and drawn one- an appalling run that currently live them on the 11th position on the league table with 33 points.
The consistent ill performances has now triggered majority of the supporters who have started calling for the dissolution of the technical team, with some section preventing the team to train few days ago at the Adako-Jachie training grounds.
Speaking on Guide Radio, Amos Frimpong, who spent almost nine years with the 'Kum Apem' lads, has advised the supporters to be united and support the club regardless.
He added by stating the comparison of past and present managements among the fans won't help since it isn't what the club need at the moment to turn things around.
"I would not say it's because of the technical team or the problem is only the technical handlers. I am on most platforms of Asante Kotoko supporters. Currently, you could see most of them or the supporters are divided into two. Some are still supporting the past management and some are also supporting the current management," he told Guide Radio.
And if teams like this happen in the team, it will always be difficult for the team to progress. So personally, I will attribute this recent performance to the division in Asante Kotoko because I see there is no unity among the supporters and it is really causing the team as a whole," he added.
