Head coach of Tamale City FC, Hamza Mohammed has downplayed the quality of this current Kotoko team and strongly believes they will edge past them today.
The Porcupine Warriors will play as guests to newbies at Aliu Mahama Stadium in a tricky GPL week 12 tie and will need this win to keep hopes of winning the league.
The Golden Eagles have two wins and two defeats from their last five matches and will look to grind maximum points to move out of the relegation zone as they currently sit 17th on the standing with just 10 points.
Speaking ahead of the game, the young tactician has shown so much respect to the opposition but not the current squad and is very optimistic they will carry the day over them. He told Akoma FM in Kumasi;
"For us, it's a normal preparation for the Kotoko game just that Kotoko is a big team that attracts most players so it serves as a motivation to myself and the players."
"We know our position on the league table is not encouraging. We have therefore prioritized our upcoming games including the one against Kotoko. We need to win the game."
"The current Kotoko team lacks quality compared to previous squads. You can't find the quality of the likes of Joe Debrah, Hamza Mohammed, Aziz Ansah, Stephen Oduro, and the rest in this current Kotoko squad."
"Fortunately, they(Kotoko) are coming in with a depleted side due to injuries so we will take advantage and pick all three points."
The game is scheduled for 1500GMT.
