Former Accra Hearts of Oak defender, Raddy Ovouka has predicted that his Congolese counterpart, Ndongani Samba O'Neil, will take the Ghana Premier League by storm after joining Asante Kotoko.

Ovouka, who played alongside Samba in Congo, believes that the 23-year-old central defender is too good for the Ghana Premier League and is capable of making a significant impact at his new club.

“The Ghana Premier League is too easy for him because I know him well. He is very calm, not lazy and a very good player. He can also play as a midfielder (a number 6). He demonstrated that in Burkina Faso and he can help Kotoko in defence as central defender,” said the former GPL winner.

He added: “He was born in Congo and started his career there. We started playing together. He is a very tall guy and a very good player.

The former GPL winner also praised Samba's height and skill, stating that he trusts his friend and former teammate to make a positive impact at Kotoko.

“I trust my brother and my friend because I have known him for a very long time. I know what he can do at the back. Let’s see what happens against Hearts of Oak on Wednesday. He is ready to play this game. He is always ready for every game not for Heart of Oak only.”

Samba O'Neil joined Asante Kotoko on a two-year deal on Thursday after parting ways with Burkinabe side, Rahimo FC, and is expected to make his debut for the Porcupine Warriors when they take on arch-rivals, Accra Hearts of Oak on Wednesday in the Democracy Cup.
