Highly-rated midfielder, Justice Blay is most likely to be named Asante Kotoko's new captain heading into the 2024/25 football season

Following the mass player overhaul at Kotoko after the season including two former captains; Danlad Ibrahim and Richmond Lamptey, head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum is definitely going to select new captains for the club and it appears Justice Blay is the front runner to be named the new substantive captain at the moment.

The 32-year-old is currently the longest serving player at the club having joined in 2019 and posses so much experience and exposure in the Ghanaian game.

With how he's conducted himself since his arrival, reports has it that, the technical team are very hopeful selecting him as the new leader on the pitch will be really malleable to the new players heading into the new campaign.

Despite battling injuries at some point, the combative midfielder has always proven to be one of the best at the Baba Yara Stadium and is very unique with his versatility as he is able to operate different roles on the pitch.

Justice Blay made 22 appearances last season and is currently preparing very well alongside the rest of the squad ahead of the Democracy Cup game against eternal rivals Hearts of Oak on July 17.
