Captain of Asante Kotoko, Samba O’Neil put up another man of the match performance in their win over Eleven Wonders and has urged all their supporters to continue rallying behind them to enhance their league winning hopes.
The Porcupine Warriors extended their recent winning run to two after a 0-2 away win against the ‘Sure Wonders’ who have consistently been a torn in a flesh in the last few years
Two goals in each from Peter Acquah Amidu and Johnson Oppong Owusu made the difference and handed the Reds all the three points with the latter most likely to establish himself in the good books of the teeming fans.
The Congolese defender, who ha been on the radar of series of clubs lately, once again was in the thick of things for Reds and lasted the entire duration as well.
After once again taking home the man of the match accolade, Samba says the league is very open and they still have a very long way to go.
“Ghana Premier League is not easy, especially playing here at the Legon Sports Stadium. It’s not easy here, so winning today is important for us.
“The league is still young, so we keep working. The fans should come in their numbers, and we are going to fight to give them a win.”
Asante Kotoko have moved to 27 points on the league log, tying up with second-place Medeama SC and are just one adrift league leaders Aduana Stars.
The ‘Kum Apem’ lads will return home to host Bechem United at the Baba Yara Stadium this weekend.
