Asante Kotoko coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum, has attributed the team's struggles in the just-ended 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season to a lack of mentorship from senior players.

The Porcupine Warriors had a disappointing campaign, finishing 6th on the league log with 49 points, and Ogum believes that the senior players failed to guide and mentor the young players, leading to an imbalance in the team.

"The senior players who were supposed to guide them [the young players] did not give them enough mentorship and I think that created imbalance in the team," Ogum told the club's media.

“We did not also have harmony because of this lack of mentorship from the senior players," he added.

The comments come after the club announced that they have parted ways with 11 players, including captain Ibrahim Danlad and Isaac Oppong, following the conclusion of the season.
