Communications Director of Vision FC, Prince Tagoe has brushed aside claims that the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex astroturf in Tema New Town is undermining the team and the players performance in their debut season in the Ghana Premier League.
Vision FC won promotion to the Premier League after easily winning the 2023-24 Division One Zone Three title.
After securing promotion to the top flight, the Ewoo Boys have since played their home matches at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex.
The Ewooo have won seven, drawn 7 and lost ones, notching 18 and conceding 10 goals in the 15 home games they have played so far. They are currently 12th on the log with 39 points.
In spite of this not-way-too-bad statistics they have managed to rack up at home, some sections of supporters have voiced worries about the effect the astroturf is making on the players and the team’s game plan and their method of play.
"There hasn't been a lot of negative feedback from the players on playing on the astroturf this season," Prince Tagoe debunked these claims in an interview with Channel One TV.
Vision FC butt heads with fellow sufferers Karela United in a high-stakes game for both clubs at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex on Sunday, May 25 at 15:00 GMT.
