Frank Nelson Nwokolo, a Board Member of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club, has issued an apology for the club's underwhelming performance in the current season.
He acknowledged the disappointment caused by their early exit from the CAF Confederations Cup and the FA Cup tournaments.
Furthermore, Hearts of Oak failed to clinch the Ghana Premier League title, finishing in eighth place for the 2022-2023 season with a record of 12 wins, 9 draws, and 11 losses.
Speaking at the press soiree of the BAC Group-organized All Star Festival, Nwokolo expressed remorse for the club's subpar performance.
He addressed the supporters directly, stating, “I think we just have to say to our supporters, we are sorry because we didn’t live up to expectations…so we have failed ourselves. We will learn our lessons as we go, it’s a very bad situation but at the end of the day, that’s where we find ourselves so we accept it,” he said.
Hearts of Oak will conclude their league campaign with matches against Real Tamale United and Berekum Chelsea.
