Basake Holy Stars head coach, Abdulai Gazale, has expressed his team's resolve to bounce back from their recent defeat as they prepare to face Asante Kotoko in a crucial match on Sunday.

The Premier League newcomers will host the Porcupine Warriors in matchday 8 at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park, following a 2-0 loss to Nsoatreman FC.

Speaking ahead of the fixture, Gazale emphasized the importance of not suffering back-to-back losses and outlined the team's focus on correcting their mistakes.

“We are taking it game by game. The next focus is planning for Asante Kotoko. We can’t afford to lose two consecutive games in the league,” Gazale stated. “We will work on our mistakes and get ready for Kotoko. Every Kotoko match is tough because they always aim to be on top, and other clubs want to prove they are equal. We’ll be working throughout the week to get back to winning ways.”

Basake Holy Stars, who made a strong start to the season with a victory over Hearts of Oak, have struggled to maintain that form. They have secured two wins, one draw, and suffered four defeats after seven matches this season.

With seven points, the Anyinase-based side currently sits 13th on the Ghana Premier League standings.
