Basake Holy Stars coach Abdulai Gazale has said his team cannot bear to lose two consecutive games in the Ghana Premier League in the wake of their 2-0 defeat at Nsoatreman at the weekend.
The Ghanaian top flight toddlers will host Asante Kotoko in Matchday 8 at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park in Anyinase on Sunday, October 27.
Gazale, a former Porcupine Warriors assistant coach has not enjoyed a dream start to his tenure at Anyinase – the defeat to Nsoatreman, coupled with three defeats – apart – with two wins and one draw in seven matches leaving his side 13th with 7 points of the Premier League.
Should they beat Kotoko as debutants, Gazale will etch his name into the annals of Basake Holy Stars history.
But while Gazale's seamless appointment this summer may have confounded the doubters, the 33-year-old still sees plenty of room for improvement and highlighted a number of factors in Sunday's 2-0 lss at Nsoatreman which he was not happy with.
“We are taking it game after game. The next thing we are thinking of is to plan towards Asante Kotoko. We can’t afford to lose two consecutive games in the league,” he said.
“We will work on our mistakes and get ourselves ready for Kotoko. Every Kotoko game is difficult because they always want to be on top and clubs also want to prove to them that we are equal. We will work throughout the week in order to get ourselves back to winning ways."
