Dr. Richard Duah Nsenkyire, President of FC Samartex 1996, has argued that the success of Ghana football should not only be restrained by how many trophies the Black Stars win.

The Black Stars have not won any trophy in forty years, having scooped the Africa Cup of Nations four times.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) and its President - Kurt Okraku has been criticised in recent times for the bad performance of the Black Stars, but the Timber Giants chief believes the success of the senior national team cannot be reduced to just winning trophies.

“We can’t reduce the success of Ghana football to just trophies we win,” Nsenkyire told Asempa FM.

“The Black Stars have not won a trophy for some time now but everything is a cycle. Football is for all of us. I don’t want to say the FA is different from us. We are part of the FA.”

The Timber Giants won the Ghana Premier League title in only their second season in the Ghana Premier League, having concluded the title with two games to spare on Sunday afternoon after stunning Bibiani Gold Stars 1-0.
