Medeama SC gaffer, Augustine Evans Adotey has admitted Accra Lions took them by surprised after losing to them last Friday in GPL week 27 opener.
The Lions marmalized the Mauves and Yellows by 4-2 on Saturday afternoon at the Ohene Gyan Stadium to halt their five game winless run with four loses.
Young sensation Bassit Seidu scored four times making him the first to do so in a single game this season in the Ghana Premier League.
However, Vincent Atinga scored a brace of penalties for consolation for the visitors.
The just-named coach of the month for March has stated his lads weren't really at their best in terms of defending and described the last two goals they conceded as 'easy.'
"Our hopes were so high that we will carry the day but they took us by surprise especially going down two goals and that brought us down but still we had hopes of doing better."
"Sloppy defending, organization, marking especially in the last ten minutes was clear. Looks like fatigue settled in. We conceded two easy goals, a free header and one from a counter situation."
Medeama SC will host Dreams FC in the next round of matches in Tarkwa and will seek nothing but a win to reclaim their top spot.
