The Head Coach of Medeama SC, Ibrahim Tanko, says his team deserved to win their Ghana Premier League Matchday 23 fixture against Bechem United, played at the TNA Stadium in Tarkwa on Sunday.
Medeama beat the Hunters 3-1 to record their ninth win to pick up where they left off after the league was suspended for five weeks due to the death of a football fan during a league match.
Tanko in a post-match interview believed his boys played their hearts out, although he admitted they should have scored more in the first half to win the game.
"We had a very good game against a very well organized team, and I think in the first half we should have scored two or three goals more, but I think in the end, it is a deserved win for us," he emphasised.
Tanko expressed confidence in his team, acknowledging their potential to transform and integrate with the team’s shifting patterns.
“We have an almost full house; all the players are on board, and he had time to train together for one week, so I think it is part of the reason why we had a great game today because all of them who played today did very well.
“I think it is very good that all of them are on board, so definitely it is going to be a good season for us."
Medeama are now sitting sixth on the league log with 32 points. The Yellow and Mauves will travel to Abrankese to muscle-it-up with Nations FC in Matchday 24 fixture at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Stadium on Sunday.
