Asante Kotoko interim coach Hamza Obeng says his team are working to improve their consistency as the Porcupine Warriors prepare for a crucial Ghana Premier League showdown against Medeama SC.

The Porcupine Warriors have struggled to maintain a steady run of results in the 2026/27 season, recording three wins, three draws and two defeats from their opening eight matches.

Kotoko have also found it difficult to build winning run in their last three outings. They drew 1-1 with Ashantigold 04, suffered a 1-0 defeat to Swedru All Blacks before returning to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Young Apostles.

With league leaders Medeama SC visiting Kumasi on Sunday, November 1, Obeng has admitted that his side need to improve but insists they are working hard to address their weaknesses and secure all three points.

Speaking to the club's media, the interim coach explained that the technical team have identified consistency as a key area that needs attention ahead of the big encounter.

“It’s very true we don’t have consistency in our play and it’s something that we are working on; looking at our game plan, that is what we are sticking to inside this game and we have a plan we are using to take the three points,” Hamza Obeng told the club’s media.

The Porcupine Warriors currently sit eighth on the league table with 12 points after eight matches, while defending champions Medeama lead the standings with 17 points.
