Young Apostles FC are set to make history with their first-ever Ghana Premier League home game on Sunday, 15th September 2024, at the newly revamped Nana Abrefa Nketiah VII Stadium in Wenchi.
Ahead of the match, club chairman Sammy Anim-Addo confidently declared that the stadium boasts the best pitch in the top-flight league.
Since securing their promotion to the Ghana Premier League in June, the stadium has undergone significant upgrades, particularly to the playing surface, which has been meticulously prepared. Anim-Addo shared photos of the lush green turf on social media, drawing widespread attention and sparking conversation among football enthusiasts.
In a post on his X account, Anim-Addo wrote: “After a successful stakeholders meeting with the NSA, we visited the BEST pitch in the Ghana Premier League with the officials and met my AGYA NA ƆWƆ TUMI boy @officialyafc at training. As usual, I inspired and motivated the team ahead of the game tomorrow Sunday, 15th September, 2024.”
He also emphasized his personal involvement in the stadium’s upkeep, stating: "On a point of notice, I am the groundsman for 'THE APOSTLES ARENA' at the Nana Abrefa Nketiah VII Stadium in Wenchi. I told the NSA that we want to ensure our pitch stays green till the end of the season, so we’re seeking their support to achieve this objective."
