Asante Kotoko’s technical director, Malik Jabir, has expressed optimism as the Porcupine Warriors gear up for the highly anticipated Super Clash against archrivals Hearts of Oak on December 15.
Kotoko, after enduring a challenging six-game winless streak, returned to winning ways with an impressive 2-0 victory over Aduana FC. On the other hand, Hearts of Oak have found their footing following a shaky start to the season, securing key victories to build momentum for the showdown.
Jabir is confident in his team’s ability to counter Hearts’ strengths and deliver a solid performance.
"Hearts of Oak, we know them, and we will see how to handle it. They scored two, we also scored two. In the first half [against Aduana], we could have scored twice, but we didn't. Don't worry, it's not the same; the opponent isn't the same. These are young boys who are vibrant," Jabir stated during an interview with Peace FM.
The stage is set for a thrilling encounter as the two most iconic clubs in Ghanaian football reignite their fierce rivalry, with both sides eager to claim the bragging rights and secure vital points in their quest for league success.
