Asante Kotoko have expressed genuine interest in signing Derrick Fordjour but his club Medeama SC upon hearing the news have at once rejected the approach.
Fordjour, after a short spell with Spanish side Real Valladolid in 2021, joined the Mauves and Yellows and was identified with a great talent and prospect by many in just his early months in Tarkwa.
The 22-year-old was really instrumental in helping Medeama SC clinch the Ghana Premier League for the first time ever in 2023 and also excelled in their CAF Champions League campaign where they managed to reach the money zone of the competition.
Obed Acheampong reports that, Asante Kotoko were so convinced he is the right player they needed on their flanks and were ready to make a move for Fordjour's signature but have been told to stop since their bid won't be accepted following the timing of the approach.
The sensational wideman has started the ongoing campaign on a very good note and currently has one goal in ten appearances but is hoping for more going forward.
Derrick Fordjour has made over 70 appearances since joining Medeama SC and is at the moment having a twelve-goal involvements; having netted four and registered eight assists.
