Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has called for total focus from his side as they continue their push for the Ghana Premier League title, insisting there is no room for complacency despite leading the standings.

The former champions currently sit at the top of the table but are approaching a decisive stage of the season where every point could prove vital in the title race.

Speaking ahead of their Week 33 fixture against Heart of Lions, Tanko explained that constant communication and discipline within the squad have been key to maintaining their strong position.

He also warned that home advantage should not lead to relaxation, urging his players to approach every match with the same level of intensity and commitment.

“We have to have a lot of conversations with the players. We are still leading the table, but I don’t think we should feel comfortable because we are playing at home. We have to prepare well, like any other game,” he told Medi TV.

Tanko further stressed the importance of securing all three points, noting that victory in the upcoming fixture could put Medeama on the brink of the league title.

He believes a win would significantly boost their chances of clinching the championship before the final round of matches.

“We want to win this game so that our chances will be almost 90% before the last game. So definitely we are going to work hard for this game,” he added.

The crucial Ghana Premier League encounter between Medeama SC and Heart of Lions is set for Sunday, May 17, at the TnA Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 3:00 pm.
