Hearts of Oak coach Martin Koopman has called for patience as he seeks to transform the club's fortunes following a lackluster start to the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.

The Phobians have struggled this season, managing just one win, two draws, and two losses in their five matches played thus far, with an outstanding game against Heart of Lions.

As a result, the renowned Ghanaian club currently finds itself in a relegation battle with just five points.

Following his team's recent draw against Samartex, the Dutch coach emphasized the need for time to bring about the necessary changes.

He noted that the squad primarily consists of young players aged between 19 and 21, and they require time to develop and adapt.

"I see performance and I'm proud of them. I think we need time because the players are young. We have players between the ages of 19 and 21, so we need time," he explained.

Hearts of Oak will be on the road to face Bibiani Goldstars in matchday seven of the Ghana Premier League, and Koopman hopes for a better outcome in the upcoming fixture.
