Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has shared his enthusiasm about the quality and depth of his squad as the team prepares for the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.

Following a significant overhaul, including the addition of over ten new players and the departure of 21, Kotoko is gearing up with renewed vigor.

Despite a 2-1 defeat to Medeama SC in a recent pre-season friendly at T&N Park, Ogum is optimistic about the team's potential.

“There is so much quality in the team. We need to ensure that we instill courage and confidence in the players so they can express themselves whenever given the chance,” Ogum said. “The quality and depth are there, and it’s promising for Kumasi Asante Kotoko.”

In the friendly match, Medeama's goals came from Kofi Babil and Prosper Boakye in the 21st and 89th minutes respectively, while Kotoko’s Bernard Somuah scored in the 62nd minute.

Asante Kotoko is looking to improve on their sixth-place finish from last season and will start their new campaign with an away match against Karela United at the Aliu Mahama Stadium.
