Medeama SC gaffer, Ibrahim Arnyas Tanko has revealed their target ahead of the 2025/26 football season after failing to make a top four finish in the just-ended season
The Mauves and Yellows started the season and stayed in the title race for a while but at certain point dropped which resulted into parting ways with their previous coach Nebojsa Kapor
He was succeeded by Ibrahim Tanko and guided the team to an eight-place finish but has stated he will look to strengthen his squad in order to compete for the league title
The former Black Stars assistant will have the opportunity to assemble his own team this to take them through preparations reason he is very optimistic of winning the league next season
“When I came in, the goal was to bring stability and success,” said Tanko in an interview with Graphic Sports. We missed out on the top four, and that’s disappointing. But we’re not coming back next season to chase the top four — we’re coming for the title.”
“There won’t be massive changes, but we need to reassess. Players who are surplus to requirements will either be offloaded or sent out on loan, so we can make space for the right additions.”
“We have a good group of players, but we need to add more quality. A centre-back and a striker are definitely priorities,” he said. “The rest will come from the talented young players we already have at the club.”
Medeama SC are currently on break after a long and will resume very soon to begin preseason towards next season
