Asante Kotoko goalkeeper and captain, Danlad Ibrahim has pleaded with the supporters on behalf of the entire squad following their recent poor performance and has vowed of beating Samartex FC on Sunday.
The Porcupine Warriors have been very shambolic since the commencement of the second round of the ongoing GPL season, having lost six in their last seven matches.
The string of poor results sparked a huge fury among the fans who have already started calling for the jettisoning of coach Prosper Narteh Ogum to the extent of stopping him from training last Tuesday at the Adako-Jachie training grounds.
However, after marathon of meetings with club owner His Royal Majesti Otumfour Osei Tutu II, the King has thrown his supporter behind the educationist asking him to continue as the club's gaffer but with an improved performance this time.
With everything seemed like falling in the right path now administratively, club captain Danlad Ibrahim has also vowed and assured their fans of righting all wrongs as quick as possible starting from this Sunday against league leaders Samartex FC.
"We would first like to apologise to our supporters because we know they don’t deserve this kind of result and the things that are happening in the team. However, we want to assure them that we will do whatever it takes to turn it around."
"It’s very, very bad because a lot of us can’t even sleep and taking into context what we want to do for Asante Kotoko and our careers, this result doesn’t speak well of us the playing body. But we know it’s part of the job and the only thing we have to do is to change things around now, is to work hard and stay focused. Other than that, it could be worse."
"This is the time we need our supporters and I do feel the pain of them and that of the King because I am also a supporter, but in these moments, patience is key, and I know we don’t have any excuses on Sunday and I believe we are going to win. I believe that 100%."
The 'Kum Apem' lads will host the Timber Giants at the Baba Yara Stadium, in the next round of matches on Sunday, April 21.
