Hearts of Oak kicked off the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season against newbies Hohoe United and unfortunately failed to pick maximum points in a very exciting opener at the Ohene Gyan Stadium last night.
The ‘Phobians got held by the ‘Muje Gabah’ lads to pulsating goalless draw and it was the visitors that has been praised by lots of pundits after the game following how good they were and how they organized very well in the last twenty minutes when they played with a numerical disadvantage.
The club’s inability to clinch victory means the ‘Phobians’ are now winless in their opening matches in the last seven seasons in the Ghanaian topflight and will now require an eighth attempt to try and halt this unpleasant run.
In a post-match with TV3, head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani says entirely it wasn’t a bad game as he lads had the energy to play throughout but were just unlucky with how to find the back of the net.
Hearts further assured their fans that they will patch up all cracks and bounce stronger in their next game
“We needed the last edge which is very important. The energy and the performance was good. We didn’t lack creativity, we found the right spaces but weren’t clinical.”
“There’s a lot to work on before our next game. We will find the right solution before we play Dreams FC. Sometimes when you’re chasing the goal and it’s not coming, it kill the confidence of the players but they still played well.
“He is our skipper, and is his responsibility to always live up to the task. He is Ghana’s number and performed his duties just as he should.”
Hearts of Oak will now prepare to play Dreams FC away from home in the next round of matches
