Public Relations Officer of Medeama Sporting Club, Nana Effa Asare believes the club are not experiencing complacency and will win the Ghana Premier League this season if they maintain their current level of performance despite their recent setbacks.
The Yellow and Mauves have annexed six wins, three draws and four losses after 13 rounds of matches into the current campaign, and are sitting fifth with 21 points on the league log.
Medeama will face Nsoatreman, Karela United and Asante Kotoko in their next three matches in search of their seventh, eight and ninth win.
Despite being stunned 3-2 by Vision FC last weekend, Effa Asare in an interview claimed Medeama will scoop the Premier League title at the end of the season.
“It’s unfortunate we couldn’t defend the title last season. We’ve learnt from our mistakes. It too early to call but our objective is to win the league and secure a spot in Africa. I can emphasized Medeama will win the Premier League title this season” he said.
Meanwhile, Medeama have sacked their head coach Nebojsa Kapor following their dismal run of results this season. The club failed to trigger a one-year extension option on Kapor's contract earlier in the wee hours of Monday.
Technical director, Evans Adotey, has been asked by the Yellow and Mauves chiefs to take interim charge of the club until a substantive gaffer is appointed.
