Bibiani GoldStars Administrative Manager Joseph Oti Manu has expressed confidence in the club’s chances of retaining the Ghana Premier League title following their recent rise to the top of the table.
The Miners needed less than five seasons to claim the topflight crown which was achieved last season and are very desperate to retain having moved up on the table with few matches to go.
Despite difficult start to the 2025/26 season, GoldStars have climbed to first place with 48 points after a hard-fought 1-0 win over Vision FC in their last match.
Oti Manu on Citi Sports, praised the impact of the club’s new coach and highlighted the team’s strong run of form and how consistent they have been recently having won five of their last six matches in the league.
He further disclosed they are very hopeful to defending their title and will make steady approaches towards their remaining matches
“We believe as a team, it takes so much to just reunite us because since our new coach took over, whatever he’s done for the club is very massive and very transforming,” he said.
“So basically, for some time now, in the last six matches we’ve won five and lost one; it tells you how much we are set for winning the league once again.”
“We are picking game after game, match after match. We are not in a rush. Last season, we won the league almost on the final day.”
“Everything looks set for us to just win the league back-to-back again,” he added.
GoldStars will now turn their attention to their match-day 27 clash against Karela United at the Aliu Mahama Stadium this weekend as they look to maintain their lead at the top.
