Golden Kick FC head coach Fiifi Parker Hanson remains confident and composed ahead of his side’s historic MTN FA Cup final clash against Asante Kotoko this Sunday.

The lower-tier side has already caused major upsets in this year’s competition, eliminating Premier League clubs Karela United and Hearts of Oak en route to the final. Hanson believes those triumphs have prepared his team for the biggest test yet.

“We have already played Hearts of Oak,” Hanson told Sporty FM, referencing his side’s fearless run. “That alone tells you that we are not afraid. We’ve gained experience, and we’re going into this game with the same mindset.”

Golden Kick FC will battle the Porcupine Warriors on Sunday, June 16, at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium. Kickoff is set for 17:00 GMT.

A victory for either side will secure qualification to the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup, providing a rare opportunity for Golden Kick to represent Ghana on the continental stage. Despite the pressure, Hanson says his side remains focused and motivated.

“Our journey hasn’t been easy, but we’ve shown that we’re capable. We respect Kotoko, but we’re not here just to compete — we’re here to win,” he added.

Golden Kick FC, considered underdogs, will look to crown their fairytale run with silverware and write a new chapter in Ghana’s domestic football history.
