Hearts of Oak forward Mawuli Wayo insists the squad is fully committed to putting last weekend’s painful defeat to Asante Kotoko behind them as they prepare for a difficult trip to face Swedru All Blacks in the Ghana Premier League.

The Phobians suffered their first loss of the season in the Super Clash, a setback Wayo admits hit the team hard. But he believes the response since then has been positive.

“We learned a lot from the Super Clash,” he said in a pre-match interview. “It was our first defeat of the season, and we had to learn from it before going into our next match. It was painful, but we realised that it’s gone and we have to focus on the next match. We want to improve in the final third.”

Wayo expects All Blacks to provide a stern test in Saturday’s Week 10 encounter, but maintains Hearts of Oak are travelling with a clear objective.
“Against All Blacks, we know they will come in hard. They are highly motivated, but we are going there to do our best to win the game,” he added.

The match week 10 encounter kicks off at 3:30pm on Saturday, November 15, and a victory in Swedru would help reassert Hearts of Oak’s title ambitions as the season approaches its midpoint.
