Asante Kotoko interim Management Committee Chairman, Nana Apinkrah Akwasi Awuah has admitted the team has recently dropped in so many aspects especially on the pitch but has assured the supporters of righting all wrongs very soon to get back on track.
He made these comments on the back of the team’s recent abysmal performance which has gotten most of the supporters unhappy and believe they need to improve massively to stay in the title race.
After four-game winless run in the league including two loses against Basake Holy Stars and Hohoe United, the Porcupine Warriors finally redeemed themselves with a narrow 1-0 win over Dreams FC over the weekend to return on winning ways.
Speaking during the swearing-in of newly-elected Asante Kotoko Supporters Chairman and his executives last Saturday at the National House of Chiefs at Manhyia, Nana Apinkrah assured the fans of calling out the technical team and playing body to put things right or actions will be taken very soon
“Since returning from the African competition, our performance has been far from convincing,” he said.
“We have lost only two games, but the overall display has not met the standard expected of Kotoko.
"During our recent technical meeting, we made it clear to both the coaching staff and players that they must elevate their performance immediately. If the necessary improvements are not made, further action will follow," he added
Asante Kotoko have now moved to third place on the log with 24 points and will face Eleven Wonders next.
