FC Samartex deputy captain Ebenezer Acquah has expressed his joy after leading the club to a remarkable double in the past year.

Samartex, the Timber giants, achieved a historic milestone by securing their first-ever Ghana Premier League title last season.

Their successful campaign continued with a victory in the Champion of Champions match against FA Cup winners Nsoatreman FC on Saturday at the TNA Stadium in Tarkwa. Emmanuel Mamah's decisive goal sealed the win and the trophy for Samartex.

Acquah shared his excitement, stating, “I’m very happy. Being the assistant captain of the club and winning two trophies within a year is refreshing. This will motivate us going forward. Our coach has been instrumental in our success, so credit to him. He always aims not to concede during matches, and that strategy has been very beneficial for us.”

In addition to their domestic success, Samartex made significant progress in their maiden African campaign, advancing past Victoria United in the preliminary round.

They are set to face Moroccan powerhouse Raja Casablanca in the next stage of the qualifiers later this month.
