Samuel Inkoom, the defender for Hearts of Oak, has expressed his apologies to the club's fans for a disappointing campaign. The Ghanaian giants faced a battle for survival in the recently concluded season, finishing 12th on the table, just four points away from the relegation zone.

With their previous league victory two years ago and consecutive FA Cup triumphs, there were high expectations for the Phobians. However, the former African champions endured a challenging season, resulting in the dismissal of two coaches during the campaign.

"I apologize sincerely for the disappointing performance of the team this season. We hope that with the support of the fans, complimenting the efforts of the Board and the Board Chairman, Togbe Afede XIV, the team will rebound stronger next season. PHOBIA!!!!" Inkoom wrote on social media.

The future of the former FC Basel star with the Accra-based club remains uncertain following a one-and-a-half-year tenure.

Inkoom returned home in 2021 after a successful career abroad, representing several clubs including Dnipro, Boavista, and Antalyaspor.
