Ghana Football Association (GFA) Communications Director, Henry Asante Twum, insists that the current administration can't be fingered because there's no headline sponsor for various leagues.
Asante Kotoko won the Ghana Premier league with sixty-seven points last season.
Zylofon Media signed a five-year headline sponsorship deal for the Ghana Premier league with GFA in 2018, but the company was closed down that same year for alleged irregularities.
After the Anass exposé on widespread corruption in Ghana football, the GFA is yet to secure an headline sponsor for the Ghana Premier league.
However, they've managed to secure a broadcasting deal with Startimes.
The Kurt-led current administration, was elected in 2019, promised to make the Ghanaian league very lucrative but yet to fulfil.
Information available to kickgh.com is that, the current administration met Coca cola executives and are optimistic of securing a deal.
Asante Twum insists that the current adminstration can't be blamed for not securing an headline sponsor for the league.
“In the past two seasons, the various leagues have been played without a headline sponsor and you cannot blame the current administration because we are all aware of what happened,” he said on Asempa FM.
“When we took office, we have made the effort to stream the Women’s League on Facebook and also being aired on MAX TV. We know it’s not enough but it is better than before."
