Alhaji Ali Maradona, a former management member and Chief Supporter of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, has advised the club to focus on addressing their own internal issues instead of constantly resorting to social media to blame others.

Speaking on Kessben FM's Midfield Action, Ali Maradona emphasized the need for a unifying approach to tackle the club's challenges, which he believes should be addressed by the club itself.

In recent weeks, some Asante Kotoko supporters have taken to social media to criticize referees, the media, and officials of the Ghana Football Association, accusing them of being biased against the club.

Some members of the club's management, including CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah, have also taken to Twitter to throw jabs at the Ghana Football Association.

Ali Maradona urged the club to refocus its attention on its grassroots supporters, who are the ones that truly matter and attend the games, rather than social media users.

“Sometimes if you say something, some people will be on social media insulting and attacking you. Kotoko supporters we don’t know social media oh. The shoeshine guys, the people at the market are the ones who come and pay and watch Kotoko games, not Tiktok and the Facebook people"

"If you insult me on social media, I’m even happy. I don’t really care about those insults but that won’t add anything to Kotoko. It won’t help Kotoko"

He also highlighted the need to address internal issues such as the lack of participation of Kotoko Ladies and the decline in the attendance of the club's circles' meetings.

"Kotoko is huge. What has changed now? Do you now see Kotoko ladies? No. Do you now see AKOPA? No. Ask yourself why circles do not meet again. They don’t go to meetings because the leaders are not there. Let’s fix our home issues,” Ali said.
