Former Ghana international Nii Odartey Lamptey has strongly criticized the management of Eleven Wonders, condemning their handling of player welfare and overall leadership at the Ghana Premier League newcomers.
The club has recently faced scrutiny after former coach J.E. Sarpong exposed worrying conditions, including unpaid salaries and inadequate feeding for players—issues that have sparked public anger and raised questions about the club’s internal management.
Lamptey, who took charge of the team after their promotion to the top flight, mutually parted ways with the club following a difficult start to the 2025/26 season, leaving them winless after nine matches.
Addressing the situation in an interview with Asempa FM, Lamptey expressed deep disappointment with the club’s leadership structure.
“I just hope things will change at the club because the handlers of the team… one is a Member of Parliament and another is on the Council of State, so why should this be happening?” he questioned.
He further criticized their inability to manage the squad effectively.
“Sometimes, I ask myself questions because if you cannot manage 30 players, then I am sorry.”
Lamptey contrasted the situation with his own work at his academy.
“I am an illiterate, and I have over 60 players I am managing. So if an illiterate can do that, how much more people like you?”
Eleven Wonders remain rooted to the bottom of the table with three points from 11 matches, and they now prepare to face Dreams FC on Matchday 12 at the University of Ghana Stadium.
