Basake Holy Stars will look to end their winless streak when they face high-flying Gold Stars FC at the Ampain AAK II Sports Arena on Wednesday in a rescheduled Ghana Premier League matchday 20 fixture.
One of the eight matches, 3pm kick-off of Wednesday's midweek Match-day 20 Premier League actions pits Young Apostles against Asante Kotoko in an unlikely top and mid of the table clash.
Samartex's third Premier League clash of 2025 which was originally scheduled to come off in February, is a visit from Medeama.
The match was postponed to Wednesday, March 19 following the gruesome killing of Kotoko fan Nana Pooley.
The reigning champions had won just two, drawn five and lost three of their previous 10 matches in the top-flight before Asante Kotoko journeyed to the Nana Nsenkyire Sports Arena to snatch a 1-1 draw against them last Saturday, Awuah Dramani and Kwame Opoku scored for both side's in the draw stalemate, which saw Samartex climb to the 9th position in the league standing.
Match Preview
A visit from Medeama would usually appear a routine draw or somehow victory for Ibrahim Tanko's side but their recent form has been dismal. They have won just two of their past six games across all competitions and stumbled to a 1-0 defeat with Samartex in their most recent visit to Samreboi.
Although the Timber Giants had not been in improved form - but beating them is impossible, judging with their statistics on paper before their 1-1 draw at the hands of table-topping Kotoko, with pressure not on head coach Christopher Ennin. They are now ten points beneath the top of the standing but will be wary of slipping back into old habits.
Samartex possible starting lineup (3-2-4-1):
Baah (GK) (C); Acquah, Adabo, Afful, Agbeaimah, Adjei, Ephson, Mamah, Mensah, Sarpong, Sefah
Medeama possible starting lineup (4-2-3-1):
Kyei (G), K. Amoah, Asmah (C), Babil, Boison, Enu, Fordjour, Kumi, Nkrumah, Owusu, Sulemana
We say: Samartex 2 - 0 Medeama
Samartex certainly didn't blow Kotoko away last time out but their performance will serve as a major confidence boost. The arrival of the incongruous cum changeable Medeama offers an excellent opportunity for them to secure a win for the first time since the start of April last year (2024).
With Medeama's chief creator and goalscorer who in recent times hardly scores, may find it difficult to pose any serious threat to the Samartex goal, even if the Samartex' defence dozes at a point in time as the match unfolds. The Yellow and Mauves are struggling for goals and will have to capitalise on the rare occasions they turn the ball over at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena.

Two teams in need of a victory face off on Wednesday in a Matchday 20 fixture when Premier League title hopefuls Nations FC entertain Aduana Stars at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Abrankese.
Nations FC looked to have turned a corner towards the start of December but ended 2024 on a run of just one draw and one win from four games, with that victory coming over a Legon Cities side handing out three points like there's no tomorrow... to everybody apart from Basake Holy Stars.
Match Preview
Aduana ended the year with a 1-0 win over stuttering relegation battlers' Legon Cities and entered this game having won just twice, lost two and drawn twice since January this year.
Nations FC possible starting lineup (4-2-3-1):
Sanon (GK) (C); Abrokwa, Alhassan, Badu, Boahene, Charwetey, Djangone, Grippman, Karim, Kuffour, Sulemana
Aduana Stars possible starting lineup (4-2-3-1):
Inusah (GK); Adams (C), Addo, Bamba, Boateng, Duah, Obeng, Sackey, Silas, Tetteh, Wakii
We say: Nations FC 3 - 0 Aduana Stars
Both sides might be struggling for form, but Nations FC will be supremely confident of tallying up another three points here against an Aduana side who have struggled horribly at the back even before Yaw Acheampong was shown the exit.
Working in Nations FC favour is their imperious home form - Kasim Mingle's side have won three and lost two in their last five league action at Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex - so fans will rightly expect a comprehensive victory.
Nation FC captain Razak Simpson absence - as he's currently in the camp of Ghana's Black Stars may influence the team but the Abrankese side are likely to have enough of the ball to benefit despite his absence.
