Cameroon added the Seleção to the list of upsets at the 2022 World Cup by edging the South Americans 1-0 in the final Group G clash at the Lusail stadium on Friday night.

Despite the Indomitable Lions hard fought victory, they will leave Qatar following Switzerland's 3-2 win over Serbia, albeit with their heads high.

With nothing to lose ahead of their departure, Cameroon went all out to live every stone unturned against a second string Selecao, to become the first African side to defeat Brazil at the mundial.

Cameroon nearly broke the deadlock at halftime as Bryan Mbeumo pounced on a gasping cross but his header was flipped away by Ederson.

After recess Brazil opened intense fire on Cameroon as Gabriel Martinelli's superb curling was palmed away by Devis Epassy.

Both sides kept pressing but Cameroon had their breakthrough when gutsy Vincent Aboubakar head home Jerome Mbekeli's cross to snatch the win in the 90+2' minute, but he was, however, carried away by the goal - only to be sent off for removing his jersey.

Cameroon produced a fealess display to prove to their South American opponents that they won't be an easy ride to roll over, yet robust and talented. Brazil hardly threatenedand looked disordered as they succumbed to the defeat.
