The Seagulls this season have suffered from injuries which has undermined their players abilities and zeal towards the game. Brighton going into the last Saturday away fixture to Nottingham Forest at the City Grounds had Ansu Fati and Tariq Lamptey joining the long injury list for the south coast club.
Ansu Fati and Tariq Lamptey were two players covering the left wing in attack for Roberto de Zerbi's team but had Ansu Fati been the first casualty to join the injury list on 21 first half minutes. Just ten minutes to the half time break, Ghanaian fullback Tariq Lamptey was also substituted due to injury.
Tariq Lamptey was not in the Ghanaian squad for the World Cup qualifiers during the international break due to injury but on his return into the starting lineup he had to be pulled out of the game quite early.
In the Europa League, Brighton have 7 points just a point behind leaders after four matches played. They play AEK Athens, and Marseille in their quest to qualify into the Round of 16. Likewise they are 8th with 22 points on the Premier League standings as they would face Chelsea, Brentford, Burnley, Arsenal, Crystal Palace and Spurs in their next six league fixtures going into next year. Brighton have ten injuries to count now as they will have to play their way through until they are fit and ready or even the next transfer window.
Brighton have the majority of their injuries in defense. Four defensive minded player are injured at the moment. Tariq Lamptey joins with a mascular injury as his return to the pitch is not known. Pervis Estupinan also has a thigh injury and returns on January 22, next year. Adam Webster picked up a knock and is set to return on December 9, this year. The last is Julio Igor who has ankle/foot injury and has a 50% chance as he is set to return on 30th November,2023.
In the midfield role, Brighton have most of their wide midfielder injured. Solly March has suffered a really though injury which makes him unavailable until January 22, next year. Another wide midfield player is Kaoru Mitoma who has 25% chance of returning onto the field of play. He would be seen available on 30th November this year. James Milner is the next pair of Brighton's midfield injuries. He has a mascular injury and his return is not yet known.
In attack, Brighton have the same number of injured players as those in midfield. The latest to join is Ansu Fati who has a knock and his return is unknown. Danny Welbeck is set to return January next year whereas Julio Enciso who has a knee injury returns quite earlier on 26th December, this year.
Brighton head coach have expressed how worried he is about the sudden injury concerns on his players but he will have to manage with the players at his disposal until those injured are back or the next transfer window where he can bring some players into the squad.
