AC Milan of Italy and Borussia Dortmund of Germany face each other in an epic Champions League battle. This fixture is one which defines the fate of who qualifies into the Round of 16. Both clubs are elite and have to be at the next stage of the competition.
AC Milan and Dortmund come into this game having secured victories in their respective league. Milan won their Serie A fixture by a goal against Fiorentino which secured the third spot for them with 26 points after 13 matches. Dortmund were involved in a six goal scoring fixture at full time having scored four out of it against Mönchengladbach. Dortmund are forth with 24 points from 12 matches.
In Group F in the Champions League, Dortmund are leaders with 7 points having secured their second win against Newcastle in their last fixture; scoring two without reply. Milan are two points behind Dortmund after they had their first win in this season's Champions League after defeating PSG by 2-1.
Both team come into this game having met on five different occasions already. Milan have won twice and lost on three count's. The reverse fixture in this group ended goalless.
The home team come into this game without Rafa Leão, Noah Okafor, Kjær and the suspended Musah. The away side will play without Süle and Nmecha with Sabitzer not fit. Haller and Adeyemi would be returning from injury and could be called upon if their services are needed.
Milan boss Pioli had this to say on game; " it is an important game, a turning point in the group. We will have to be attentive and I want to see a team that puts in absolutely everything out on the pitch, combining strength with character. Our objective,this season is to be competitive in the league and Europe". Piolo has laid down his verdict of what we are to expect in this game.
Terzic also said" it's the Champions League. We cannot afford to make mistakes. I know all about the beauty of San Siro and the emotional impact it has. We will need to switched on from the get-go,fully aware that AC Milan want to excite their fans". For Dortmund's objectives he said " our objectives isn't necessarily to finish first but we got the opportunity to do so by winning. We'll give everything".
A win for Dortmund tonight will mean they have secured a ticket to the next stage of the competition. An AC Milan win will put the Group still widely opened. The question is will Borussia Dortmund reign over Milan at the San Siro?
