Dozens of fans and pundits were buzzing in ecstasy for Daniel Afriyie Barnieh after the youngster put up a form of a generational talent for the Black Stars in an international friendly against Switzerland at the Baniyas Club Stadium on Thursday.
The phenomenal Hearts of Oak star was exceptional in tight areas, his vision, reading and pace in the game was second-to-none as he brimmed with confidence at the right wing during his 62 minutes of action on the pitch, making Ghana bloody lucky to have him.
A crashing Mohammed Salisu's header put Ghana ahead in the second half, with Antoine Semenyo adding the second just five minutes later to kill off the match and secure a win for the Black Stars.
Barnieh's aerial presence, intelligence and confidence on the field of play will provide the team with a strong link and focal point upfront in the Ghana set-up if coach Otto Addo hands him a start in their first Group H game against Portugal in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
